Lactation & Breastfeeding Support Groups

Support, reassurance, and practical help with breastfeeding

Feeding a baby brings questions at every stage. Our Lactation Support Group offers a calm, welcoming space to ask questions, get evidence based guidance, and connect with other parents who are navigating similar challenges.

This group is facilitated by a lactation trained clinician and is designed to support breastfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, and early infant feeding decisions without pressure or judgment.

What our Groups Offer

This is a supportive, discussion based group rather than a formal class. Each session is guided by the needs of the families who attend.Topics often include:

  • Latch comfort and positioning
  • Normal newborn feeding behavior
  • Milk supply questions
  • Pumping basics and troubleshooting
  • Bottle feeding strategies
  • Returning to work or school
  • Growth spurts and cluster feeding
  • When to seek one on one support

You are welcome to attend once or to come back regularly as your baby grows

Who Should Attend

The Lactation Support Group is appropriate for:

  • Pregnant moms  preparing for breastfeeding
  • Moms of newborns and young infants
  • Anyone who wants community and practical guidance

No dad or toddlers for these groups.

What to Bring

You may find it helpful to bring:

  • Your baby and a breastfeeding pillow
  • A list of questions or concerns

If you prefer to just listen and observe, that is completely fine.

What You Can Expect to Gain

Parents often leave the group with:

  • Increased confidence in reading feeding cues
  • A sense of connection and reassurance

The goal is to make feeding feel more manageable and less isolating.

What Does it Cost?

These session are either free with insurance, or free.

When Individual Care May Be a Better Ft

Group support is helpful for many families. Some situations are better addressed in a private visit, including significant pain, poor weight gain, complex medical history, or ongoing feeding distress. We are happy to help you decide which option is most appropriate.

Ready to Join

You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. Questions, uncertainty, and mixed emotions are all welcome here.
