How the Team Works

Providers collaborate across Barrio Babies and Barrio Balance+. This structure allows concerns to be addressed comprehensively, without fragmentation or unnecessary handoffs.

Angelica Hibbs is a family nurse practitioner with extensive experience caring for newborns and their mothers since 2004. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and has dedicated her career to supporting families during the early postpartum period.

In 2018, Angelica began working in the newborn nursery at Tucson Medical Center as a hospitalist nurse practitioner, caring for newborns with a wide range of medical needs, including hypoglycemia, jaundice, feeding difficulties, and respiratory concerns. Her work also includes coordinating referrals and continuity of care when additional services are needed.

Angelica is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and focuses on evidence‑based education so families can make informed decisions for themselves and their babies.

Heather Davis, FNP-C, IBCLC, ABHRT

Heather Davis, FNP-C, IBCLC, BHRT

Family Nurse Practitioner | Functional Medicine | Breastfeeding Medicine

Heather Davis is a family nurse practitioner who provides care to patients across the lifespan. Her background as a maternal‑child nurse since 2004 led her to become an IBCLC in 2015, and she continues to support mothers and infants throughout their breastfeeding journey.

As a family nurse practitioner, Heather places strong emphasis on preventive care and long‑term health. Her interest in Functional Medicine and bioidentical hormone therapy grew from a desire to better understand complex, overlapping symptoms and to support patients beyond short visits and surface‑level answers.

Heather takes an individualized approach to care, tailoring evaluation and treatment plans to align with each patient’s health goals and priorities. She views the provider‑patient relationship as a partnership grounded in education, transparency, and shared decision‑making.

Outside of clinical practice, Heather enjoys cooking, gardening, cycling, and trail running with friends and family.

Maria Villa, RN, IBCLC

Registered Nurse | Lactation Consultant

Maria Sara Villa was born and raised in Colombia and grew up in a family closely connected to La Leche League, which shaped her early exposure to breastfeeding support and maternal‑infant care.

She has worked as a childbirth educator and birth doula, supporting families through pregnancy and birth. Maria later became a registered nurse and has experience in mother‑baby hospital settings as well as school health.

As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Maria supports families through feeding challenges and early parenting with a calm, experience‑informed approach. Her background across birth, postpartum, and nursing settings allows her to meet families where they are and provide practical, compassionate guidance.

Jordan Major, MS, RN, CLC

Registered Nurse | Lactation Consultant

Jordan has called Tucson home since early childhood and continues to raise her three children with her husband in the community they love. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Physiology and later completed the Master’s for Entry into the Profession of Nursing program at the University of Arizona in 2014.

Jordan began her nursing career at Tucson Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she spent eight years providing individualized care to newborns and their families. She later served as Perinatal Nurse Navigator and Coordinator of the Childbirth Education program at Tucson Medical Center.

In 2025, Jordan became a Certified Lactation Counselor. This role complements her NICU experience and personal journey as a mother, allowing her to support families during the early stages of newborn care with confidence and clarity.

Jessica Tredici, RN, IBCLC

Registered Nurse | Lactation Consultant

Jessica has worked as a registered nurse for over 17 years, with experience supporting mothers and babies as a labor and delivery nurse in both hospital and birth center settings.

After facing her own breastfeeding challenges with both of her children, Jessica became motivated to support other mothers through similar experiences. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant five years ago and now focuses on supporting families from first latch through the full breastfeeding journey.

Jessica is committed to providing thoughtful, compassionate care grounded in both clinical experience and lived understanding.
